Do or Do Not

It seems movie themes are becoming all the rage. Aladdin, Hunger Games and Star Trek are proving popular in recent years but Star Wars surely tops the list when it comes to total devotion, even down to your nuptials.

This was certainly the case for Australian super-fans Caroline Ritter and Andrew Porters who flew to Hollywood to be married outside the famous Chinese Theatre, friends and family dressed as characters ranging from Chewbacca to Darth Vader with the ceremony officiated by none other than a Jedi Knight. After which the happy couple promptly popped inside for the premier of the Force Awakens.

Even Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride is proving popular. Vampire bitten cup-cakes and grave shaped mousse anyone?Probably my favourite, just for shear dedication and attention to detail is Back to the Future fans Salvatore Aiello and Anastasia, who tied the knot in Arizona on at 4.59pm 21st October 2015 the exact time that Marty McFly travels in time to 2015.

I feel a little disappointed that in an eighteen year photography career I have never been asked to photograph a movie themed wedding. Indeed I’m no giant but surely 5ft 9” doesn’t make me, ‘a little short for a Stormtrooper!’
